Be very careful to not allow the Lolumina soft-release button to get snagged. If the button gets snagged, it could damage your shutter release button.

  1. I don’t have a question, but more a suggestion. It would be nice if there was a way to hold the base of the Lolumina-kit while screwing on the upper part. The shutter button on my Nikon 1 V1 can freely rotate, so I don’t have enough grip to screw the button itself on. Maybe make the base straight on to sides, so you can use a small wrench of some kind. I think a lot of camera’s – dslr or ilc – come with freely rotating shutter button.

One small remark: it is very hard to position the base with just your fingers (mine was therefore a bit of the centre). I should have use pliers. It would be helpfull to others to put that in your installation instructions. Apart from these two things, I’m very happy with the end result.

    Pieter Molenaar May 24, 2014 at 05:32 #
    • Pieter, Thanks for the feedback. We understand the difficulty of installing on a rotating shutter button. We are currently designing a tool that can help. In the meantime, we will add some suggestions on how to hold the shutter in place along with the instructions of using pliers or similar tool to help with initial attachment.

  3. The installation of the (black) soft release kit went perfectly. However, the diameter of the button is larger than the shutter button on my Leica X-Vario and therefore difficult to reach for the on/off switch that surrounds the shutter button. Will you be offering smaller diameter soft releases in the future? Thanks.

    Roaming Cat June 15, 2014 at 17:54 #
    • BTW, the black soft release works well and looks great on my X-Vario!

      Roaming Cat June 16, 2014 at 09:32 #
    • Roaming Cat, please stay tuned, we will be receiving a shipment shortly with new sizes. We are glad that it is working out for your X-Vario, we would love to see it on your camera. Either hashtag it #lolumina on Instagram, or send us a image file to post for others to see. Thanks.

  7. Which one should order for the Fuji Xt1? Do I need one with a smaller size?

    Jano August 5, 2014 at 23:37 #
    • Jano, both sizes work on the X-T1, it’s a matter of preference and finger size. Although some of our users prefer the Mini on the X-T1. Below is a size guide to print and measure for yourself.

We can also email you images of both sizes on the X-T1 so you can see it, just let us know.

      Lolumina August 6, 2014 at 10:49 #

            10mm and 13mm complete-kits work fine. Most buyers like 10mm complete-kits.

  9. Hello,

If I order the Mini without the base will it come with the 3M adhesive? I would like to mount it on my Sony RX-100

    David August 17, 2014 at 21:42 #
    • David, the button-only does not include the adhesive. But if you would like to mount the button directly to the button without the mount, we can include the adhesive discs as a special request for you.

      Lolumina August 18, 2014 at 18:14 #
      • Thank you for the two adhesives ‘Dots’ for my Sony RX-100. I immediately put the Button on but then I noticed that the ‘Dot’ was slightly over-sized and sticking out from one edge of the bottom of the Button. So I gently pulled the Button off but of course the adhesive was so strong that I ended up pulling the whole Sony shutter button off with it. Long story short … I used the second ‘Dot’ , after trimming it slightly and got everything back together. Works great. looks good.

  11. What soft button should I purchase for a Nikon D5100?

    Nancy December 18, 2014 at 16:16 #
  12. Just wonder, would any of your product fit a Nikon DF camera?

    Sam Leung December 30, 2014 at 20:46 #
    • Sam, our product is designed for cameras that do not have a screw thread in the shutter button, like a Fuji X-T1. So our button will not work, although most other soft-release buttons on the market will fit your Nikon.

  23. Why do you show only the convex version of the releases in your sample pictures with the cameras? Would you recommend them rather than the concave ones?

  24. Hi,

    you say:
    “Not recommended for the following:
    – Loose/wobbly shutter release buttons”

And I own a Fuji X-T1 and noticed their shutter release buttons are a bit wobbly but they are like that, brand new so I guess you don’t advise using your solution for the Fuji X-T1?
